1st AMS-UMI JOINT MEETING
Special Session:
|
In recent years there has been a growing interest in formulating
and solving mathematical models to explain numerous experimental findings,
also relevant to industrial applications. This minisymposium will focus
on the mathematical challenges of all these endeavors. Both analytical
and numerical aspects will be covered, as here they are extremely interwoven,
particularly in elucidating complex behaviors which also call for the development
of new numerical approaches.
The Symposium
will be held in Pisa
( Tuscany
) on Saturday, June 15 2002, in the Polo Fibonacci facilities (
Department of Mathematics of the University
of Pisa ). The scientific organizers are Prof.
E.G. Virga (Pavia) and Prof.
E.C. Gartland (Kent). The schedule will include several presentations
by American and Italian speakers.
