Pisa is located near the mouth of river Arno in Tuscany, about 80 km west of Florence. It can easily be reached both by plane and by train.

From the International Airport "G. Galilei" a few minutes' ride on a bus can take you right in the center of the town.

For those who prefer traveling by train, schedules can be obtained from the official timetable of the Italian Railways company (FF. SS.), or alternatively at the DB website, which also covers non Italian stations.

Luminara (candlelight on the Arno)
We recommend that you should not miss the "luminara di S. Ranieri": on the eve of the town patron saint's feast day (i.e., the evening of June 16) thousands of candles are lit on the façades of the buildings in the streets facing the river Arno ("Lungarni"). An enchanting view you will not forget easily! town of Pisa
